Dr Sophie Petit-Zeman
Sophie has been Head of External Relations at the Association of Medical Research Charities since 2004, after completing a neuroscience PhD and working in mental health biomedical project management and as a science, medicine & social care communications consultant in the UK and internationally. She has a wealth of experience in lay & professional journalism (shortlisted MIND Mental Health Journalist of the Year 2001) and as a media trainer and has written two books (Doctor, what’s wrong? Making the NHS human again; Routledge, 2005) and How to be an even better chair (Pearson, 2006). Sophie is a member of numerous high-level boards and steering committees including the UK National Stem Cell Network, is a vice-president of the Institute of Animal Technology and a non-executive director/trustee of the Brain and Spine Foundation.
