Interactive multimedia flipchart resources
Y Touring is proud to announce the launch of our first interactive, multimedia flipchart in partnership with Promethean Planet. The Dayglo Preparatory Collection includes film interviews with the playwright Abi Bown (author of Dayglo) and the NHS Chair of Pharmacogenetics - Professor Munir Pirmohamed (Understanding Pharmacogenetics). It also contains interactive student activities on breast cancer and the ethical questions posed by advances in pharmacogenetics, genetic screening and testing and punk music, as well as extensive background notes for teachers.While the contents are designed to be used prior to a live performance of Y Touring's Theatre of Debate® production, Dayglo in your school, the content is of use to any teacher looking at advances in medical research in relation to the outcomes of the human genome project - specifically genetic tests, inherited genetic disorders (sickle cell anaemia and forms of breast cancer) and advances in pharmacogentics. The content has been developed in partnership with the Association of Medical Research Charities, is supported by the Wellcome trust and has been created by Bongo LLP and Y Touring.

Preparatory Pack
The Preparatory Pack includes a synopsis of the play, four introductory lessons, background information about pharmacogenetics for teachers and students and a glossary. While the contents of the pack are designed to be used prior to the performance and are written with teachers and students in mind, they will be of interest to anyone who is preparing to teach about, learn about or wants to find out more about pharmacogenetics.
